Dear Friends of EURICAM,

due to hard work of some of you our common idea to bring CAM into FP 7 will probably become reality. It seems unlikely that CAM will be excluded again in the second reading in the European Parliament and therefore there is a realistic chance that the EU will fund CAM research from next year on. The amendment in the FP 7 concerning CAM research does not mean an automatic money supply from the EU – we have to work now on our ideas and needs to give projects a chance to be approved by the EU authorities. Therefore we think a EURICAM workshop is needed once more to discuss matters personally and with some time:

Nov 20 th 2006, Academy for Integrative Medicine Vienna ,
9.oo a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

And we invite you all very heartily to come and join the discussion. At that time the final text of FP 7 and first information on the procedure should be already available and therefore the following topics should be part of our agenda:

• Update process of FP 7
• What research topics should be worked on – overview on Susanne's questionnaire ( if you have not filled in yet – please do so and sent it to her asp!!)
• Who should be nominated as competent person in the selection process ( these people are excluded from submitting own projects)
• Organisation of the future planning and communication
• Activities at Munich's conference in May 2007

If you want to include other topics – we will be happy to add them to the agenda. Please inform us asap of your participation - we will give an update of participants by end of septemer. Those of you, who will already be in Vienna on Sunday night– we will have a nice welcome and celebration dinner to our first joint success. We are very much looking forward to welcome you all here in Vienna meanwhile have all nice and relaxed summer,

Bettina & Susanne
